For general merchandise, Hat City Pawn will assess the value of your items based on their retail value. Our pawnbrokers will use their experience along with online auction sites if necessary in order to accurately value your goods. At Hat City Pawn, we try our best to give you the highest price possible for your goods. However, we are reselling used merchandise, therefore, it must be significantly discounted. Our customers come to a pawn shop looking for a bargain and will only pay reduced prices for goods. Therefore, we must adjust our prices according to what the market will bear.
Gold and Silver Jewelry
As you might expect, Gold and Silver are valued using a different method than with general merchandise. At Hat City Pawn, we perform a nondestructive acid test in order to accurately measure the purity of your precious metal jewelry. The purity goes by 10K, 14K, 18K and so on. We will then weigh the individual gold and silver item(s) and provide you with an offer based on the weight and purity of the item(s).
