CT Laws

Buying a firearm from an online retailer requires the firearm first be sent to a registered FFL before being transferred into a customer’s name. This ensures the firearm passes through safe hand and is not left on the doorstep or the mailbox of a person’s residence.
In CT a state issued pistol permit is required to purchase a long gun, pistol and ammunition. A person may obtain a long gun certificate but this only allows that person to purchase legal rifles and shotguns. The only way to purchase ammunition in CT is to have a pistol permit.
